The 32,388 vacancies span across four primary teaching tiers under the Bihar Education Department. The distribution is outlined below:

1. Primary School Teacher (Classes 1 to 5) – 3,847 Posts

Designed for foundational schooling, this tier includes general subjects, Urdu, and Bangla tracks with extensive reservation provisions for women candidates.

2. Middle School Teacher (Classes 6 to 8) – 8,563 Posts

BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Primary Teachers (Classes 1–5): Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, coupled with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or 4-year B.El.Ed. / Special Education.
• Middle & Secondary Teachers (Classes 6–10): Graduation degree in the relevant subject with a B.Ed. qualification from a recognized institution.
• Higher Secondary Teachers (Classes 11–12): Post-Graduation (Master’s Degree) in the respective core subject along with a B.Ed. degree.

Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Mandate

• Classes 1–5: CTET Paper-I or BTET Paper-I passed.
• Classes 6–8: CTET Paper-II or BTET Paper-II passed.
• Classes 9–10: STET Paper-I passed.
• Classes 11–12: STET Paper-II passed.

Age Limit (As on August 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years for Primary/Middle; 21 years for Secondary/Higher Secondary.

1. Written Examination (CBT Mode): The selection is based entirely on a competitive written objective test consisting of General Studies, Language Proficiency, and Subject-Specific domains.
