Selection Process & Exam Patterns

1. CSBC Bihar Police Constable

  • Written Test (Qualifying): 100 Objective Questions (100 Marks, 2 Hours). Subjects include Hindi, English, Mathematics, General Science, and Social Science (History, Geography, Civics).
  • Qualifying Criterion: Candidates must score a minimum of 30% in the written test to qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
  • Merit List: Final merit is strictly based on total marks obtained in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), not the written exam.

2. BPSSC Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI)

Prelims Exam: 100 Questions (200 Marks, 2 Hours) covering Current Affairs and General Knowledge. (Negative marking: 0.2 marks per wrong answer).

  • Mains Exam:
    • Paper 1: General Hindi (Qualifying, 30% required).
    • Paper 2: General Studies, Civics, History, Math, and Mental Ability (200 Marks).
  • Physical & Medical Tests: Qualifying nature to ensure candidates meet physical standards.
  • Merit List: Based on marks obtained in Mains Paper 2.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Standard Requirements

For both Constable and SI posts, passing the physical standards is mandatory:

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  • Height (Male): 165 cm (General/BC), 160 cm (EBC/SC/ST).
  • Height (Female): 155 cm (All categories).
  • Chest (Male): 81 cm unexpanded / 86 cm expanded.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Constable Stage

  • Running: 1.6 km in 6 minutes (Male) | 1 km in 5 minutes (Female).
  • Shot Put (Gola Fenk): 16 lbs weight to minimum 16 feet (Male) | 12 lbs weight to minimum 12 feet (Female).
  • High Jump: Minimum 4 feet (Male) | Minimum 3 feet (Female).
